Medicinal Chemistry is one of the most active inter-disciplinary areas of chemistry across both academia and pharmaceutical industry. Medicinal chemistry focuses on small organic molecules and aims at the discovery and development of new chemical entities (NCE) to be used as therapeutic agents (drugs). It thus encompasses synthetic organic chemistry and aspects of natural products chemistry, cheminformatics, chemical biology and structural biology.
